Governors have an important part to play in helping the effective running of our school. They work with the Headteacher and school staff to help provide high quality learning in a supportive environment to provide the best possible education for our children.
The role of the parent governor is to bring valuable knowledge and a parental perspective to board meetings, supporting the board to make good decisions and maintain links between governance and the parental community. The Local Governing Body work as a team to develop the school’s vision, strategies and review the educational performance of our academy.
This voluntary role can be challenging and extremely rewarding. It is an excellent opportunity to build on your personal and professional skills. Training and support are available for all our governors during their time on the board, allowing you to use your knowledge and experience to the full extent.
What is required?
Governors are required to attend 6 board meetings per academic year, as well as participate in school visits, and other meetings or panels as required. You will receive regular reports from the headteacher, and senior team and you need to be able to question, challenge and support decisions for the school.
