Secondary Support

Newhouse Academy is looking for a candidate who is, as we describe, one of "Our People".
We appoint on character over talent alone, believing that we can always learn new skills. Self-reflection is important, as is being a team player and understanding the importance of our values.
The improvements made by the academy in recent times have been achieved by working together towards our vision and by looking after our biggest asset, our staff.
The Isolation Room is a prime example of this, whereby through high expectations, consistent and positive application of school policy and by supporting each other, we operate a calm and purposeful isolation room, where students know, understand our expectations.
We come to work each day to support our students and our fellow colleagues. We create an environment of high expectations, which means that Our People treat each other with respect. We all have bad days and we all make mistakes. Learning from these is important, so that together we grow and develop.
We are looking for a candidate who;
- Is one of ‘Our People.’
- Is able to work independently as well as part of a team(s).
- Has knowledge and understanding of strategies to remove the barriers to learning.
- Is good at problem solving.
In return, we offer:
- Membership of the Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF)
- Funded CPD for nationally recognised qualifications
- Employee coaching and mentoring programmes
- An optional package of health benefits from Simply Health which includes; GP appointments, money back for eye tests, prescriptions and more.
- Free use of brand new gym facilities
- Staff activities, including a Wellbeing Café
- Access to register for blue light discount
- Free staff car parking
We openly encourage you to make an appointment to come in and have a look round. The Headteacher, Alex Burnham, is more than willing to meet you and talk through our journey and the vision for the future. Do you want to be part of the team that takes Newhouse Academy to the next phase in its journey? Come and have a look, what do you have to lose?
