As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all pupils across the School. You will provide expert advice and guidance to staff, lead on child protection matters, and act as the key point of contact for safeguarding concerns.
The successful candidate will:

Lead on all child protection and safeguarding matters across the School, providing support and guidance to staff as required.

Maintain a strategic overview of safeguarding, ensuring that policies, procedures and practice remain effective, compliant and child-centred.

Work closely with local statutory agencies and external professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Ensure safeguarding concerns, allegations and referrals are recorded accurately, securely and in line with statutory requirements.

Review and manage child protection records for pupils joining the School, liaising with previous settings where appropriate to support smooth transitions.

Provide leadership, advice and direction to staff, promoting a strong safeguarding culture throughout the School.

Identify and coordinate safeguarding training to ensure colleagues remain informed and confident in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Build strong working relationships with the Safeguarding Governor and contribute to the annual review of safeguarding arrangements.

Attend relevant governing body and committee meetings, providing updates on safeguarding practice and developments.

Keep the Headteacher informed of significant safeguarding and child protection matters.

Undertake regular and relevant professional development to maintain up-to-date safeguarding knowledge and practice.
